HBR Executive Committee Luncheon with Mayors Council

The HBR recently convened its second meeting of 2024 with the Mayors' Council, featuring Mayor Rick Blangiardi, City and County of Honolulu, Mayor Derek Kawakami, County of Kauai, and Mayor Mitch Roth, County of Hawaii Island. This session, unlike the previous one, included Executive Committee members and neighbor island members David Bissell and Toby Taniguchi. Key staff members were also present, including Mike Formby, Managing Director City and County of Honolulu, Reiko Matsuyama, Managing Director, County of Kauai, and Sarah Blane, Chief of Staff, County of Kauai.

The discussions focused on county-level economic development and the challenges currently faced. Participants agreed that these meetings have been highly productive and expressed interest in continuing them.
